SWIMMING CLUB

Overview of the club

The concept of swimming

- Swimming is a water sport, due to the effect of full body movement, especially the movement of legs and arms, swimmers can overcome underwater distances at certain speeds. Thanks to the basic elements of water such as thrust from the bottom up (floating force), drag force, lift force ... so swimmers can move on the water to move forward in many different styles and ways of swimming. Water is a liquid medium, so movement in water is movement in a foreign environment for humans. When swimming, the body lies flat on the water. Therefore, swimming is different from land sports.

The benefits and effects of swimming

- Swimming is a means to exercise the body to make the body adapt to the change of the outside climate, thus preventing colds.

- People also use swimming to treat some physical diseases such as hunchback, curved "C" forward and backward of children. In addition, the stiff joints caused by broken bones, swimming is also an effective means of treatment.

- Swimming practice has a great effect on the development of the central nervous system, making the vestibular system well developed.

- Swimming practice has a great influence on the development of the circulatory and respiratory systems. Athletes who practice swimming regularly, the heart contracts more strongly than normal people, the cardiac output increases, so the resting heart rate is only 60 to 46 times/minute. Meanwhile, people who do not practice swimming heart beat 70-75 times in a minute. Blood flow in one minute can increase from 4.5 liters in normal to 35-40 liters during exercise.

- Swimming training is also beneficial for the development of the respiratory system's ability to function, because when swimming athletes breathe in the rhythm of hand movements, each swimming cycle performs one exhalation and inhalation. . Swimming can consume a lot of energy, so the demand for oxygen is very large. Therefore swimmers must breathe deeply. On the other hand, the pressure of water into the chest, when exhaling, must be strong and positive. Therefore, the respiratory muscles of athletes are very developed, the vital capacity of non-swimmers is 3.4 liters (for men) and 2.4 liters (for women). Our country's young swimmer, after two years of swimming practice, has a vital capacity of 4.5 liters (for men) and 3.8 liters (for women).
